Changing the Lives of Rescued Dogs, One Paw at a Time

Training Program

Our training program offers personalized consultations and group classes specifically for shelter, foster, and adopted dogs.

Classes are designed to provide enrichment and socialization opportunities in a supportive environment. With small class sizes of 2-5 dogs, each dog is assigned a dedicated station equipped with enrichment tools such as toys, food puzzles, water, and a place mat or towel. Sessions are customized to meet the unique needs of each dog-handler team. For shelter and foster dogs, the focus may include decompression, calm coexistence with other dogs, socialization with people, or foundational skills like sit, down, focus, heel, touch, place, and stay. For adopted dogs, personalized guidance is provided to owners, volunteers, and classmates to ensure tailored support for each dog’s success.

Individual consultations are designed to address the unique needs of foster or adoptive pet parents. We offer guidance on a broad range of behavioral challenges, including basic obedience, transition assistance, fearfulness, reactivity, and aggression. Additionally, we facilitate meet-and-greets, conduct dog-to-dog introductions or evaluations, and provide thorough behavioral assessments upon request.

Summer School

Our Summer School offers free or low-cost educational programs tailored for individuals involved in animal rescue or sheltering, including adopters and fosters. Our presentations cover a wide range of topics, from behavior and training to shelter welfare research and industry training standards. These classes are typically scheduled during Arizona’s hot summer months, providing a valuable indoor learning opportunity when outdoor activities are harder to organize.

Whether you’re seeking companionship during your visit, interested in joining one of our events, or want support with a specific dog or shelter-related concern, we encourage you to connect with us. Together, we can make a meaningful impact on the lives of our shelter animals.
