Shelters & Rescue Groups listed below may be good options for where to get started with your ‘owner surrender’/rehoming journey after posting to some of the independent sites. Some of the organizations listed below, at any given time, may be on an ‘intake freeze’ or may not be open intake, which means they’re typically unable to take owner surrenders for any number of reasons.
Please understand before reaching out that most rescues are run by people who have full time jobs and choose to work in rescue on their own free time and that you may not always receive the most timely responses but that is not a good indicator of a lack of interest in helping. If a rescue responds advising that they cannot intake, please be sure to also ask if they are able/willing to ‘courtesy post’ your dog on their social media, and provide a bio for your dog that includes contact information for whoever would be taking calls pertaining to their rehoming.
